Level 2: Staff Group B
This group have considerable professional and organisational responsibility for safeguarding adults. They have to be able to act on concerns and contribute appropriately to local and national policies, legislation and procedures. This group needs to work within inter or multi-agency contexts.
Understanding Safeguarding Concerns
This course is aimed at those responsible for making Adult Safeguarding Referrals within your organisation based in Nottinghamshire County, as detailed in the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Adults procedure for raising a concern and referring [PDF].
If your organisation operates within Nottinghamshire County, and your role within that organisation requires you to act as Nominated Safeguarding Adults Referrer, you are invited to attend one of the dates that Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board has set up to provide learning on Understanding Safeguarding Concerns.
It is our priority as a Board to safeguard those adults most at risk of abuse and neglect in Nottinghamshire. To do that, the MASH need to be able to focus on safeguarding adults referrals that meet the criteria for a safeguarding concern. This will also improve timely and appropriate responses for the adults themselves.
As a result, we have overhauled our referrer level training, in line with recent guidance provided by the Local Government Association, and future referrer events will be under the title of Understanding Safeguarding Concerns.
This course, aimed at those responsible for making a safeguarding adults referral for your organisation in Nottinghamshire aims to enable you to :
- Understand what constitutes a safeguarding adults concern
- Evidence- based decision-making in relation to safeguarding adults concerns
- What makes an effective safeguarding adults referral
- How to use the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Multi-Agency Procedures and Pathways
