External COVID-19 guidance, resources and tools

The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) have collated a wide range of resources, guidance and tools which have been produced in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, including the Coronavirus Emergency Bill Residential care, supported living and home care guidance and Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism Covid-19 guidance amongst others.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) has a great range of resources to support you in your safeguarding adults and broader social care work. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, SCIE have created a resource page including Q&As, online training and webinars. Here you will find guidance and training on key topics, insights and experiences, resources for partners, and infection control training. As well as providing a range of guidance and resources in response to Covid-19 from itself and partners (available here), the Local Government Association (LGA) have created a report discussing frequently asked questions (FAQs) specifically in relation to Covid-19 and Safeguarding Adults, and covering a variety of FAQs under three main headings:

  • overarching issues;
  • issues for Safeguarding Adults Boards (SABs);
  • and safeguarding issues regarding specific areas of abuse or neglect.

This report is aimed at a wide range of people involved in safeguarding adults including local government officers and members as well as partners of SABs. You can view and download this document from the LGA here
